The formation of "Taobao Village" is a change in the post countryside social structure under the background of network globalisation. It is an e-commerce cluster that operates online stores and reality activities as a family unit. However, Taobao Village has clear and stable borders, the characteristic of self-enclosure and exclusion. The small-scale operation mainly focuses on low-end product processing. It’s low production efficiency has led to the loss of a large amount of capital and customers.

The project will provide the opportunity for the manufacturer and the audience to work and study in an experimental place of community and exchange. Turn the originally isolated e-commerce building into meanwhile spaces of creativity and community. Meeting the different needs of the people participating in the space. Enhance the connection between commercial space and users to encourage people to spend more time here.

On the premise of respecting the existing structure of LirenDong Taobao Village, provide an interface augmenting the logistical and small-scale manufacturing infrastructures and try to blur the boundary between commercial and community activities. The scheme provides an opportunity to regenerate the physical spaces and cultures associated with virtual transactions by creating a sustainable solution for the village. Encouraging public interaction and exchange with the manufacturer.
